Dracula psittacina is located within Columbia. In the wild this species inhabits montane cloud forest at elevations of 2,200 - 2,400 metres.The inflorescences measure 15cm and bear successively opening flowers that measure 13cm from tail to tail. The plant blooms during the winter.
This plant is flowering size. Grow Dracula psittacina in a netted pot, in shade, and keep it evenly watered all year. This species needs cool to cold temperatures and will grow indoors if cool night time temperatures and air circulation are provided.
