Maxillaria speciosa is a species from Columbia and Ecuador. In the wild this species inhabits montane wet forest as a terrestrial at elevations between 1,500-2,300 metres. The inflorescences bear solitary flowers. The plant blooms in the winter and early spring, the flowers are nicely scented.
This plant is flowering size. Grow Maxillariaspeciosa in a pot, in bright light and keep it well watered all year. This species is suited to a cool to intermediate greenhouse. If growing this species indoors make sure that there is enough humidity, there is a sufficient difference between day and night temperature and that air circulation is sufficient.
