Sudamerlycaste peruviana is a species endemic to Peru. In the wild this species is an epiphyte or lithophyte on steep embankments at elevations between 800 - 1,100 metres. The inflorescences measure 10cm and bear solitary scented flowers that each measure 7cm across. The plant blooms in the spring.
This plant is flowering size. Grow Sudamerlycaste peruviana in a pot, in moderate shade and with a lot of water during its growing season and much drier during the winter. This species is suited to an intermediate greenhouse. If growing this species indoors make sure that there is a difference between day and night temperatures and that air circulation is sufficient.
