Dieffenbachia seguine is an Aroid found in Columbia. Plants inhabit a variety of forests as a terrestrial on open forest floors. Plants can reach 2-3 metres tall when in the wild but will attain lengths much less in cultivation. The leaves measure up to 30 cm and are patterned. Inflorescences are short and are vertical with red berries as Arum’s do. Plants bloom at any time of the year.

These are medium sized plants (30-50cm) and are growing pots. Grow Dieffenbachia seguine in a pot and use a media consisting of, fine bark, medium bark, soil, perlite, and moss. Make sure the plant gets sufficient air movement particularly when gown in humidity above 70%; always ensure that humidity is high and give the plant moderate light. Plants need to be relatively damp and should certainly not stay dry for long. This species likes an intermediate to warm greenhouse with night low temperatures of 15-20 degrees and daytime temperatures of 24-30 degrees. Plants will grow indoors if ample light, sufficient humidity, and air circulation are provided.
