Anthurium veitchii is a tropical epiphytic plant endemic to Colombia and is touted for its stunningly large leaves with some sources state grow up to 2 metres. This known is known as the ‘King Anthurium’. Whilst no Anthurium is easy to care for, Anthurium veitchii is a sturdier species taking humidity as low as 50% and being tolerant of underwatering. We recommend frequent watering in the summer and once every 2/3 weeks in winter. This species enjoys a bright indirect light for it to grow large. This plant enjoys a temperature between 15 to 26 Celsius preferring slightly cooler temperatures compared to other in the genus. This species needs a chunky and airy potting mix that will provide enough oxygen to the roots.

Anthurium veitchii does produce an inflorescence. This inflorescence consists of a light green spathe and a spadix, which can be either cream or pale pink. If you have two King Anthuriums in your home, you can cross-pollinate them, and the plant will produce berry-like fruit, which contains small seeds that you can use for propagation.
