Dendrochilum wenzelii is from the Philippines. In the wild this species grows as an epiphyte in montane cloud forest at elevations between 1,000 and 1,800 metres. Inflorescences are as long at the leaves, bears many small flowers that measures about .8 cm across. Plants usually bloom during the spring.
This is a flowering size plant and growing in a pot. Grow Dendrochilum wenzelii in a pot with a fine bark and moss media, in moderate shade, never in direct or bright sunlight and give it a lot of water all year. We grow our plants sitting in a small amount of water. This plant grows well in an intermediate to cool greenhouse and appreciates night-time temperatures of 8-14 degrees and day temperatures of 22 to 28 degrees. This species likes a distinct difference between day and night temperature and a cold spell during November will help bring on new growths with flowers in January and February.
