Dendrochilum oreophilum is from Luzon in the Philippines. Nothing is recorded about its habitat, elevation, or exact location in the wild. Inflorescences measure 6-12cm, bear 13-17 flowers that each measure about 0.6 cm across. Plants usually bloom during the summer months. This is a rare species in cultivation, I know of no one else that sells this globally and the number of plants in cultivation can be counted in the 10s. Never offered for sale.

These are flowering size plants growing in pots. Grow Dendrochilum oreophilum on a mount, in a pot or in a basket with a sphagnum moss media mixed with bark or perlite. Give your plant moderate shade, never direct or bright sunlight and give it a lot of water all year. We grow our plants sitting in trays with a small amount of water. Plants grow well in an intermediate greenhouse and appreciate night-time temperatures of 14-18 degrees and day temperatures of 24 to 30 degrees. This species likes a distinct difference between day and night temperature and cool misty air.
