This small-sized orchid features crowded, tapering pseudobulbs, each bearing two apical, plicate, broadly elliptic, acuminate, acute, leathery leaves . In spring, it produces a slender, arcuate to pendant inflorescence up to 20 cm long, bearing up to eight simultaneously opening flowers. The flowers are approximately 6 cm in size , with white petals and sepals, and a distinctive red lip marked with darker veins.
