Chlorophytum orchidastrum is a species found throughout the equatorial African countries from Guinea to Zambia. I cannot find any credible information about its habit in the wild. The plants measure up to 20 cm, and clumps. Larger plants look striking. Can be grown outdoors from May to September in a shaded position.

These are flowering size plants and are growing in pots. Grow Chlorophytum orchidastrum in a pot with grit, fine bark, and perlite media. Give your plant moderate light to shade, never direct sunlight and keep it consistently watered year-round. Plants grow well in an intermediate to cool greenhouse or paludarium and appreciate night-time temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees and day temperatures of 22 to 30 degrees. This species likes a distinct difference between day and night temperature and will not tolerate direct sunlight.
