Coelogyne flaccida is from the Himalayas to Vietnam. In the wild this species grows as an epiphyte in montane forest at elevations between 1,000 to 2,000 metres. Inflorescences bear several flowers that each measure 5cm across. Plants bloom during the spring.

 

This plant is flowering size and is growing in a pot. Grow Coelogyne flaccida in a pot, on a mount or in a basket. Grow plants in moderate light, and never direct sunlight. Plants do not like to dry out for long and should be given decent quality water. This plant grows well in a cool to intermediate greenhouse and appreciates night-time temperatures of 08 to 16 degrees and daytime temperatures of 22 to 27 degrees. Plants can grow outdoors for most of the year. Plants grow well indoors and will flower if given sufficient light.
