Coelogyne kaliana is a species from Peninsula Malaysia. In the wild this species is found growing on tree trunks and branches in montane higher altitude forest. The inflorescence bears 8-12 flowers that measure 8 cm across. The leaves have strange black markings on their undersides. This species is rare in cultivation.

 

This plant is flowering size and is growing in a pot. Grow Coelogyne kaliana in a pot with fine bark mixed with moss. Grow plants in moderate light, and never in direct or bright sunlight. Plants do not like to dry out and need excellent quality water all year. Plants grow well in a cool greenhouse or terrarium and appreciate night-time temperatures of 10 to 16 degrees and daytime temperatures of 19 to 27 degrees. Plants grow well indoors and will flower if given a difference between day and night temperature and sufficient light.
