Dendrochilum javierii is a species from the Philippines. In the wild this species grows as an epiphyte in mossy cloud forest at elevations between 1,830-2,400 metres. Inflorescence’s measure 20cm, bear many flowers that measure about 1cm across. Plants usually bloom during the spring.

 

These are flowering sized plants growing in pots. Grow Dendrochilum javierii on a mount, in a pot or basket with a sphagnum moss media mixed with bark or perlite, with bright light, never in direct sunlight and give it a lot of water. We grow our plants sitting in a small amount of water. Plants grow well in an intermediate to cool greenhouse and appreciate night-time temperatures of 11-17 degrees and day temperatures of 22 to 28 degrees. This species likes a distinct difference between day and night temperature and cool misty air.
