Maranta leuconeura 'fascinator' is a species found in Brazil. In the wild this species is found growing terrestrially in leaf litter and other porous media on the forest floor in deep shade. Plants measure up to 30 cm high and spreads outwards along rhizomes. Plants bear small pink flowers.
This plant is flowering size and is growing in a pot. Grow Maranta leuconeura 'fascinator' in a pot with a media containing a mixture of perlite, soil, moss, detritus, and fine bark. Grow in deep shade, and keep it evenly watered all year. Do not let plants get direct sun, overheat, leaves should always feel cool when touched. Leaves may experience melting if water remains on them for long, particularly when the plant is in an area of low airflow. This species likes an intermediate to warm greenhouse with night low temperatures of 14-17 degrees and daytime temperatures of 22-30 degrees. Plants happily grow indoors if slightly cooler night temperatures, sufficient humidity, shade and air circulation are provided.
