Aeranthes grandiflora is a species from the Comoros and Madagascar. In Madagascar, this species inhabits the eastern escarpment at elevation up to 1,200 metres. Inflorescences measure up to 100 cm and bear successively opening flowers, that each measure 10 cm across. Plants bloom at any time of the year and are scented.

Aeranthes grandiflora is a striking orchid in a group called the Angraecoids. This plant is meticulously grown in a pot, this flowering-size specimen promises to be a distinctive addition to your greenhouse, terrarium, paludarium or indoor space. Thriving in lower light conditions, its leaves grow better in low light.

 

Care Instructions:

Grow Aeranthes grandiflora on a mount or in a pot with medium bark. Ensure sufficient air movement, especially in humidity above 80%. Provide moderate to low light for growth and flowers, spray lightly weekly to mimic natural moisture conditions increase in frequency during warmer weather, and maintain an intermediate or warm greenhouse/terrarium with night temperatures of 16-22 degrees and daytime temperatures of 22-31 degrees. Suitable for indoor growth with low light, and consistent but less watering schedules.
