Habitat and Location:

Eulophia ambongensis, a species from NW Mozambique and Madagascar. This terrestrial is found at low elevations in coastal open forests on sandy soil.

 

Description and Key Features:

Eulophia ambongensis measures up to 60 cm tall, The pseudobulbs are a narrowly conical shape and are somewhat 4-angled. A unifoliate species, the leaf blades measure 40-66 cm long and 0.5-1.0 cm wide. Inflorescences measure up to 50 cm

 

Care Instructions:

Grow Eulophia ambongensis in a pot with a media consisting of fine bark, soil, stones, charcoal, perlite, sand and grit. Ensure the plant is in bright shade and its media does not dry out. Provide moderate light for good growth and flowers, never let the media dry out completely, keep watering consistent and feed lightly in every water. Maintain an intermediate to warm greenhouse or larger paludarium with night temperatures of 17-24 degrees and daytime temperatures of 25-31 degrees. Suitable for indoor growth if it gets a difference in day and night temperature, humidity and consistent watering.
