Bulbophyllum medusae is a stunning species from Kalimantan, Sumatra, Sarawak, Sabah, Peninsula Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand. In the wild this species inhabits mangroves and wet humid lowland forest. Plants grow quickly and well grown plants can even double in size each year. Inflorescences measure 20 cm and bear 40-50 flowers that measure 13 cm long. The flowers have a musky scent and usually bloom during autumn.

This is a flowering size plant growing in a pot or on a mount. Please let us know what you would prefer. Grow Bulbophyllum medusae in a pot with a moss/bark mix, in a basket or on a mount. Grow your plant in moderate to bright light, never in direct sunlight and water it a lot and consistently. Grow in an intermediate or warm greenhouse and with night-time temperatures of 15- 21 degrees and daytime temperatures of 26 to 32 degrees. This species likes a difference between day and night temperature. Plants are better suited for a greenhouse but will grow and potentially flower indoors in a bright location or a paludarium with lights.
