Bulbophyllum laxiflorum is found across Asia. It is an epiphyte that inhabits lowland, riverine, hill forest and lower montane forests at elevations between 100 and 1,800 metres. Inflorescences are short and produce 20 flowers. Each flower measures 3cm. This species flowers at any time of the year. The flowers have a musky scent.

This is a flowering size plant on a mount. Bulbophyllum laxiflorum will do very well on a mount, or it can be grown in a pot with moss and a medium/fine bark mix. It requires moderate light, but it should never be exposed to direct sunlight. This Bulbophyllum should be kept wet at all times, all year round. This species requires an intermediate or warm greenhouse with night-time temperatures of 14°C - 22°C and daytime temperatures of 26°C to 30°C degrees. It's mostly suitable for a greenhouse but it can be grown and potentially flower indoors in a bright location or in a terrarium/paludarium with LED lights.
