Bulbophyllum lobbii is found in the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia. It is an epiphyte that inhabits lowland, riverine, hill forest and lower montane forests at elevations between 200 and 2,000 metres. Inflorescences are short and produce solitary flowers. Each flower measures 8cm. This species flowers at any time of the year.

This is a flowering size plant growing in a pot. Bulbophyllum lobbii will do very well on a mount, or in a pot with moss and a medium/fine bark mix. Grow plants in moderate light, never in direct sunlight and keep them well watered all year. Grow this species in an intermediate or warm greenhouse and give it night-time temperatures of 14- 20 degrees and daytime temperatures of 26 to 30 degrees. Plants are better suited for a greenhouse but will grow and potentially flower indoors in a bright location or in a terrarium/paludarium with lights.
