Cattleya walkeriana is from Brazil. In the wild this species inhabits rocky limestone plateaus as an epiphyte growing on old frees, also found as a lithophyte near streams. Plants are found at elevations below 2,000 metres. Inflorescences grow from the base of pseudobulbs, measure c10cm and bear 1-3 flowers that each measure 10 cm across. Plants bloom during the autumn.

 

Grow Cattleya walkeriana on a mount or in a pot with a fine/medium bark media, in bright to moderate light, brighter sunlight over the winter and give it a lot of water during the growing season and slightly reduced during the winter months. Increase water as new growths emerge in the spring. This Plants grow well in an intermediate greenhouse and appreciates night-time temperatures of 14-17 degrees and daytime temperatures of 26 to 30 degrees. Plants are suitable for growing indoors and will flower is given sufficient light.
