Dendrobium thrysiflorum is a species from Nepal, Bhutan, India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam. In the wild this species inhabits dryer semi-deciduous and humid mossy forests at elevations around 1,200 – 2,000 metres. Inflorescences are short, emerge from leafless or leaved canes and measure 30 cm and bear up to 50 pretty and scented flowers.

This is a flowering size plant and is growing in a pot. Grow Dendrobium thrysiflorum on a mount or in a pot with a fine bark media, in moderate light, never in direct or bright sunlight and give it a lot of water during the growing season and drastically reduced during the winter months. Increase water as new growths emerge in the spring. This plant grows well in an intermediate greenhouse and appreciates night-time temperatures of 13-18 degrees and day temperatures of 25 to 29 degrees. This species likes a distinct difference between day and night temperature and a short winter rest. Plants can be grown indoors in suitable conditions.
